The Senate at today’s second plenary meeting passed the new version of the Citizenship Law. The document defines such concepts as “residence permit”, “citizen of a foreign state”, “citizen of Uzbekistan permanently residing abroad”, “stateless person” and others.

The Senate at the second plenary meeting on Friday passed the Census Bill. The Bill defines the census as a periodic process of collecting and processing personal data that determine the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population, which is conducted at a fixed date throughout Uzbekistan or in its certain territories.
