Rais (chairman) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov will visit Uzbekistan on April 24-25. During the visit, he will attend Innoprom exhibition, the launch of a technopark in Jizzakh, as well as the opening of a medical education center in the Jizzakh branch of Kazan Federal University (KFU).
Innoprom. Central Asia Exhibition will take place in Tashkent from 24 to 26 April, with over 300 companies from Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan expected to participate.
More than 50 enterprises will represent Tatarstan at the exhibition. Russian Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Federation, will speak at the Innoprom opening ceremony.
Jizzakh Technopark, which will be visited by Minnikhanov, will become the second Uzbek-Russian project implemented based on the experience of Khimgrad. The first technopark: Chirchik was set up in March 2022. The new technopark in Jizzakh is planned to host at least 36 resident companies with a total of 1,100 jobs and an investment of $60 million.

Earlier, Moldova barred delegation led by Rustam Minnikhanov, governor of Russia's Tatarstan region, from entering the country ahead of a regional election in semi-autonomous Gagauzia region, which holds elections on April 30 to name the head of its government.
