Senate speaker Tanzila Norboeva hosted the parliamentary delegation led by the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Boris Kollar.

At the meeting, the counterparts discussed current state and the ways to advance relations between the two countries, in particular, to further develop cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

Tanzila Norboeva emphasized that the consistent development of inter-parliamentary relations would serve to expand Uzbekistan-Slovakia relations, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in general, it is necessary to carry out mutual visits of members of parliament, exchange experience in legislation, parliamentary control and other areas. She also drew attention to the importance of systematic and effective establishment of relations with the Slovak Parliament at all levels, and pointed to the need to revive mutual cooperation using the opportunities of another important mechanism of mutual dialogue - inter-parliamentary friendship groups.

Boris Kollar said that Uzbekistan had opened up to the world in a short period of time and was getting its proper and strong place in the world community. In addition, he said that Slovakia was interested in further strengthening trade and economic cooperation with Uzbekistan.

They exchanged views on the establishment between the relevant committees of the parliaments of permanent relations in trade, economy, investment, innovation, banking-finance, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and other fields.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange experience in the field of parliamentary activities, to activate inter-parliamentary relations at the level of heads of relevant committees and friendship groups, to mutually support and coordinate the positions of the parties within international parliamentary organizations.
