President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting in Tashkent province proposed dividing the Tashkent province into two provinces, the province governor's office said.

The first meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan was held in Urgench on May 30,as per the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin 2019.
