In December 2022, Gazprom allowed its employees to visit only 14 “friendly” countries. The 14 “friendly” countries include: Belarus, Serbia, Turkey, China, UAE, Sri Lanka, India, Morocco, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are on the list of “most preferred to visit” countries.
The list includes countries with which Gazprom has established partnerships. However, even in the case of a trip to one of them, employees of the state corporation must report to their superiors.
In December, that employees of Russian state-owned oil and gas companies were unofficially banned from traveling abroad. It was reported that the ban also applies to the closest relatives of Gazprom employees.
