Public Procurement Bill has been drafted in Uzbekistan. The draft was published on the legal acts discussion portal.

A delegation of the State of Palestine, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mazen Shamiyah, arrived today in Tashkent to discuss bilateral ties, as well as international issues.

Part of the gas supply infrastructure in Tashkent and the provinces will be handed over for trust management to private entities for operation of gas distribution network and gas retailing. This is provided for by the April 20 Presidential Decree.

On April 22, 2017 the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in order to inspect ongoing construction works and get acquainted with socio-economic development, the activities of schools and makhallas (neighbourhoods) visited Tashkent’s Olmazor district.

The Committee for Nature Protection has been converted into a Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection. The decree was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Akhborot on the "Uzbekistan" TV channel said.

The President of Uzbekistan by his April 20 decree appointed Ravshan Ayyubovich Gulyamov as chairman of the newly created Privatized Enterprises Assistance and Competition Development Committee, the committee's website said in a statement.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on April 12 issued a resolution to appoint Bahrom Kurbonovich Sharipov as the Chairman of the Board of UzbekIpakSanoat (Uzbek Silk Industry) Association, according to the government portal.

The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev decreed Wednesday the creation of a Ministry of Housing and Utility Services. The new Ministry will focus on “further improving the management of housing and utility services (HUS) system", according to the decree.

According to the Tashkent mayor’s office, the mayors of four districts - Mirabad, Yashnabad, Uchtepa and Sergeli - have been replaced.

Bakhtiyor Abdusamatov, who headed the Committee for Nature Protection since December 2013, has been appointed as khokim (mayor) of the Yunusabad district, the mayor’s office announced.

Davron Khidoyatov, former chairman of the Committee on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition has been appointed as khokim (mayor) of Tashkent’s Chilanzar district, the Tashkent city mayor’s office announced.

On April 19, 2017 a delegation of the Sultanate of Oman, headed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi will arrive in Uzbekistan.
