The Tashkent metro and the Russian Transmashholding (TMH) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) as part of the Tashkent metro development concept. This was announced on November 12 by the TMH's press service.

The MoC was signed by Rakhmonbek Usmanov, chief of the Tashkent Metro and Kirill Lipa, Director General of TMH. The MoC will be valid from 2022 through 2032.

In line with the MoC, the parties intend to cooperate in the development of infrastructure, rolling stock and passenger traffic.

Cooperation is also planned in the implementation of a digital process control system, improving security systems, introducing microprocessor control systems and traffic dispatching systems, integrating networks of overground passenger transport and the metro in order to increase the availability and demand for the metro.

The MoC provides for assistance in the introduction of a system of trade and advertising services in the metro, the creation of a logistics center for the integration of suburban, urban passenger transport and the metro.

TMH is engaged in the development and production of metro cars. The rolling stock, produced in different years at the enterprises of the holding, transports passengers of 19 metros in 11 countries of the world, including Uzbekistan.
