President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump Friday, the Uzbek presidential press service reported.
At the start of the call, President Mirziyoyev extended his congratulations to President Trump on the recent 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
"President Trump, in turn, highlighted that Uzbek-American ties have reached an unprecedented level, noting the close, trust-based dialogue established between the two leaders," the press service statement read.
The two leaders reviewed the steady implementation of all high-level agreements and discussed future prospects for deepening their strategic partnership. They also praised the strong momentum of bilateral exchanges, which now span virtually every major sector of cooperation.
The conversation focused heavily on a three-year Economic Cooperation Program, the inaugural meeting of the U.S.-Uzbek Business and Investment Council, and expanding direct ties between Uzbek regions and U.S. states.
"The visa-free for U.S. citizens has significantly energized business ties. Joint ventures are currently underway in civil aviation, automotive manufacturing, mining, infrastructure development, energy, metallurgy, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies," the statement added.
Turning to the global agenda, the presidents emphasized the critical importance of sustained joint efforts to maintain global security and peacefully resolve international and regional conflicts.
Concluding the call, President Mirziyoyev invited President Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at his earliest convenience.
