Six out of nine residential blocks at the Newport housing complex in Tashkent's Yakkasaray district were constructed without proper registration with the regional oversight body, according to the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Utilities.
The ministry reported that the developer, Mega Logistics Service, is constructing nine blocks at the site. While three of the blocks received required approvals from the Architectural and Urban Planning Council and passing expert reviews—allowing construction to be legally registered with the city inspectorate - the remaining six blocks were found to be in violation during routine compliance checks.
Inspectors issued multiple legally binding, written notices ordering the developer to align operations with urban planning codes and formally register the unregistered structures.
According to the ministry, the company ignored these directives. Consequently, regulatory authorities initiated administrative penalty proceedings against corporate executives at Mega Logistics Service and filed charges against the client’s designated technical supervision specialist.
The inspectorate has compiled all evidence from the investigation and forwarded the case files to law enforcement agencies for a formal legal evaluation.
