Uzbekistan registered 11,040 marriages in 2025 where the bride was older than the groom, with the capital city of Tashkent leading the country in such unions, according to the National Statistics Agency.
A provincial breakdown of the official registry data indicates that Tashkent city logged 1,809 marriages where the woman was older than her husband. Khorezm province followed closely with 1,066 cases, while Kashkadarya (995), Bukhara (979), and Samarqand (967) rounded out the top five jurisdictions reporting this demographic pattern.
The remaining provinces also saw thousands of similar unions officially certified over the course of the year:
- Tashkent province: 928
- Surxondaryo province: 850
- Karakalpakstan: 772
- Fergana province: 715
- Namangan province: 509
- Andijan province: 486
- Jizzakh province: 373
- Navoiy province: 351
- Sirdaryo province: 240
The National Statistics Agency compiled these figures based on comprehensive state marriage registries finalized throughout 2025.
