The governments of Uzbekistan and Russia will create a new mechanism for regulating labor migration, the press service of the Migration Agency said today.
The director of the agency, Bekhzod Musayev, and the chief of the Russian Federal Service for Labor and Employment (Rostrud), Mikhail Ivankov discussed this matter and other items on the bilateral agenda in Moscow.
A decision was also made to implement joint projects to create special training centers in Uzbekistan for citizens wishing to temporarily work in Russia.
“The Federal Service for Labor and Employment will also closely cooperate with the Migration Agency to study the activities of employers and determine their reliability,” the report says.
The parties also agreed that Uzbek labor migrants will be able to take a Russian language exam to obtain a residence and work permit (patents) in Russia while in their home country. This exam can be taken at the branch of the Sakharov Multifunctional Migration Center (MMC) in Tashkent. It was opened in 2021 at the Ishga Markhamat (Welcome to Work) monocenter in Tashkent’s Yashnabad district.
The delegation of Uzbekistan, visiting Moscow on February 4-5 also held meetings at the ministries of internal and foreign affairs, health, economic development, science and higher education, as well as at Rostrud and the Moscow government.
The central place on the agenda was, in particular, solving the problems faced by Uzbeks in Russia, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The delegation of Uzbekistan emphasized that it is important to speed up the development of the issue of transferring the procedure for obtaining permits for migrants to the territory of Uzbekistan.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue to facilitate the process of legalizing the status of Uzbek citizens, and their temporary employment in Russia through organized hiring.
