According to the Tasnim News Agency, an economic delegation from Uzbekistan, which traveled to Kabul and met with officials from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Taliban government, announced that the country is ready to import coal from Afghanistan to create a balance in trade between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Taliban government's Ministry of Industry and Commerce, business contracts worth $4.5 million were signed between private companies from the two countries during the visit.
In a meeting with the Uzbek economic delegation, Nooruddin Azizi, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Taliban government, called for holding joint trade exhibitions and suggested that a maximum of five exhibitions of domestic products and productions of the two countries be held annually at the Termez International Trade Center.
The two sides also discussed various issues, including finalizing the preferential trade agreement, establishing and advancing the activities of a cement production plant in Samangan Province, and establishing a trade house in both countries.
The Taliban government's Ministry of Commerce announced that the delegation came to Kabul to follow up on commitments made during the visit of the Uzbek Prime Minister. It is worth noting that Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov visited Kabul in August 2024 and signed trade and investment agreements worth $2.5 billion with the Taliban.
