The Tashkent to Khodjikent electric train route has been extended by 1.5 km to Chinorkent (Chinor), Uzbekistan Railways said. The inauguration of the new station took place on Wednesday.
The construction of the new section took several years, along with the expansion of the road leading to the Charvak reservoir.
The new station has a 150-meter platform with a canopy. In addition, an underground pedestrian crossing has been built.
Murodjon Mamaraimov, director of the suburban transportation wing of Uzbekistan Railways, said that stations along the route would be equipped with information kiosks for purchasing tickets. You can also pay for travel directly on the train, including with ATTO travel cards.
On the same day, the start of Baitkurgan-Parkent electrified line project was launched in Tashkent province.
The 23.8 km long route project will include four bridges, two overpasses, one tunnel, and seven railway crossings on the line.
The opening of the line will create conveniences for tourists visiting the recreation areas of the Parkent district.
