President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the informal CIS Summit in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, the presidential press service said.
The Summit was also attended by the presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus.
During the meeting, the parties summed up the results in 2024 and considered the priority goals of multilateral cooperation for the coming year.
The parties emphasized the importance of developing joint measures to expand intraregional trade and cooperation, primarily through the further elimination of barriers to the trade.
They exchange views on the prospects for developing multifaceted partnership in new areas and focused on the creation of engineering schools, the development of Internet technologies, the big data industry, the creative economy, green energy and peaceful nuclear energy, and the implementation of digital solutions.
Along with this, they discussed topical issues of the regional and international agenda, and the expansion of practical cooperation within the CIS in the fight against common challenges and threats.
