MPs are reviewing the Bill on providing working men with paid short-term leave when they have a child. According to the MP Nodir Tilavoldiev, the Bill proposed that get a five-day paid leave within a month after the birth of a child to assist their spouse.
He emphasized that the novelty proposed to be added to the Labor Code was a logical continuation of the gender equality reforms. Now, men may take leave at their own expense.
This Bill also provides for other changes aimed at ensuring equal labor rights, as well as prohibiting discrimination, harassment and violence.
The Bill also stipulates protecting the rights of employees who have been subjected to harassment or violence. If an employee has become a victim of such behavior, he may be granted additional leave.
In addition, it also proposed to add victims of family (domestic) violence to the list of socially vulnerable categories and provide them with additional state guarantees for employment.
