At the Culture and Sports Ministry of Uzbekistan were held a meeting dedicated to the Uzbekistan’s sports results in 2016.

The gold medalist of the Rio Games 2016, Hasanboy Dusmatov has been named the best sportsperson of the year in Uzbekistan. The Culture and Sports Ministry awarded the culture and sports persons of the year in various nominations in Tashkent’s Sayohat restaurant.

The new academy of fencing has been commissioned in Andijan, the Uzbekistan Olympic Committee said. The academy includes a 24×42 m exercises saloon with 8 to 10 fencing track capacity and a 50-room hotel with gym.
