The leadership of the Uzbekistan Hockey Federation was elected at the National Olympic Committee Wednesday. Iskandar Shodiev, the manager of Binokor hockey club, has been by unanimous decision elected as the first deputy chairman of the federation. Iskandar Shodiev is the nephew of the Uzbek-born billionaire Pattokh Shodiev.
At the event, the President of the Uzbek Olympic Committee, Umid Akhmatjonov told when the Humo Ice Palace will be opened:
“The multi-functional Humo Arena ice palace will be opened in March. We are looking forward to this day. After all, the new palace will help us develop the winter sports. I hope that such ice arenas will be built in other provinces over time,” he said.
