Uzbekistan kept 48th place among 126 countries in the updated Countries Military Strength Ranking. Among the CIS countries, Uzbekistan is ranked third after Russia (2nd in overall ranking) and Ukraine (30).

On 19 April 2017, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the protocol modifying the Intergovernmental Convention for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital between Uzbekistan and the Netherlands of 18 October 2001.
