The son-in-law of the Uzbek president, the chairman of the Uzbekistan Triathlon Federation, Otabek Umarov, has been nominated for the post of Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia, the Uzbek Olympic Committee (NOC) said.
His candidacy was approved on Wednesday at an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the NOC.
“The candidacy of Otabek Umarov, who has great sports and organizational potential, has been nominated for the post of Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia,” the statement said.
During the session was also elected the head of the Directorate for the Asian Youth Games “Tashkent-2025”. The NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov was unanimously voted for this position.
