The Ministry of Public Education and the networking hardware, software, telecommunications equipment manufacturer Cisco signed a cooperation agreement that provides for the free IT courses, trainings, educational materials, Webex video conferencing systems and certification for use in schools in Uzbekistan by Cisco, the Ministry of Public Education said.
At the first stage, it is planned to train 60 teachers and then 600 pupils from 30 schools from all provinces of Uzbekistan in Cisco IT Essentials courses. This course is the foundation for other professional courses; pupils who successfully complete it will be able to study further in courses in systems network administration (CCNA, CCNP), cybersecurity (CyberOps), Internet of Things and services (IoT, DevOps) and programming.
The project is intended to help increase the efficiency of modern computer classes in schools and to harmonize computer science curricula with specialized international curricula. In addition, Cisco courses will help guide pupils and teach them skills that are in demand.
