Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister, Dilshod Akhatov met with the Italian Ambassador, Andrea Bertozzi Monday, the Foreign Ministry said.

The official welcoming ceremony of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was held today at the Qasr Al-Vatan Palace in UAE's capital Abu Dhabi.

The United States, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan commemorated World TB Day by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The Memorandum will strengthen cooperation between the United States and Uzbekistan to stop the spread of tuberculosis (TB), especially multidrug and extensively drug-resistant (MDR and XDR) type of TB in Uzbekistan.

Today started the main events of the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United Arab Emirates.

At the Abu Dhabi international airport Shavkat Mirziyoyev was welcomed by the UAE Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday.

Over two hundred units of military transport and weapons have been handed over to the troops of the Uzbek Defense Ministry. The ceremony, attended by the Deputy Defense Minister in charge ofr armamentd and equipment, Colonel Oybek Ismoilov, the command of the Tashkent Military District and servicemen, took place at the Chirchik training ground.

Among the equipment were those that, by request of the Ministry of Defense, were assembled locally at UzAuto Trailer, KamAZ and SamAuto plants, and are designed for transportation of military goods, food, first aid and the injured.

According to Colonel Oibek Ismoilov, these equipment is only a small portion, with more expected to be supplied, in particular the latest models of armored vehicles, weapons, ammunition, air defense systems.
