The charred body of an Indian national who allegedly set fire to himself was found in Andijan, the press service of the Andijan province prosecutor's office reported.

Reportedly, on May 9, the man, 37, told a student of the Andijan State Medical Institute, an Indian national, 21, that he wanted to marry her. He lived in a hotel near the Institute.

After being rejected, he told other students from India that he had no reason to live. He set himself on fire with an unknown liquid near the entrance to the Babur park and died on the spot, the report said.

Forensic medical, chemical and biological examinations have been appointed.

Criminal case has been launched under Incitement to suicide or attempted suicide by threats, cruel treatment or systematic humiliation of the honor and dignity of a person and is punishable by imprisonment from 3 to 7 years.
