Student of Nurli Maskan boarding school No. 59 for the visually impaired in Samarkand was hit by a bus and died, the provincial police department reported.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 13 in Rudaki neighbourhood when the 19-year-old boy was crossing the road. He was hospitalized. On May 15, despite the efforts of doctors, he died.
Daryo reported that the young man was in 11th grade. On that day, after school, he and a friend left the institution, which is considered a closed school, where children are allowed to leave only with the permission of the administration.
The students said they were going to the store, but took the tram to the park, sources told Daryo. When they got off the tram and crossed the road, one of them was hit by a bus.
The publication writes that the guy was a native of the Surkhandarya region and studied at school from the age of 7. His parents took him home every quarter and on holidays.
The press service of the Samarkand police department said that there was a sound traffic light near the boarding school.
Criminal case was launched on the incident under Violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of a vehicle that resulted in the death of a person charge of the Criminal Code.
