On May 1, at about 5:55 AM a water leak or spill-over occurred from the sixth picket wall of the Sardoba reservoir dam in Syr Darya province. As a result, water flooded thevillage of Kurgantepa in Sardoba district, the Ministry of Emergencies said in a statement.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Uzbekistan since March 15, as of 23:00 on April 29, increased by 33 and reached 2,002, the Ministry of Health said.
