Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the foot of the monument to the late president Islam Karimov in Tashkent, the presidential press service said.
Reportedly, marking the birthday of Islam Karimov on January 30 has become a tradition. At the memorial event, verses of the Koran were read and duas were pronounced, and the merits of Islam Karimov in ensuring the national interests and his human qualities were mentioned.
The ceremony at the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov was also attended by members of the parliament, officials of the Presidential Administration and government, scientists and cultural figures.
Flowers were also laid at the foot of his monuments to in Samarkand and Karshi.
