Today, MPs of the Kazakh parliament passed the Bill on Ratification of the minutes of meeting with amendments to the intergovernmental Treaty of the two countries on the conditions of mutual travel of citizens dated July 7, 2000.
The Treaty was ratified by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 15, 2002.
Thereby, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are increasing the mutual period of stay of their citizens in the territory of a neighboring country without registration from 5 to 30 days.
The MoM on amendments to the Treaty was signed on December 22, 2022 in Tashkent. Uzbekistan ratified it on April 25, 2023.
“The new document will facilitate the stay of citizens of the two countries on each other’s territory and will influence the further advancement of economic ties, business and cultural exchange between the two fraternal countries,” the Kazakh MPs underscored.
