After his election, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev began his first visit to the territories from the Shayhantahur district of Tashkent. The head of state is walking around Sarkhumdon and Gulobod mahallas to get acquainted with the conditions there.

A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan held talks at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the purpose of the visit was to work out educational programs and other issues for the International Agricultural University, which is being created in Uzbekistan.

Natural disasters in Uzbekistan affect an average of 1.4 million people annually and cause almost US$ 3 billion worth of damage, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction said.

On November 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Organizational measures to develop a program of administrative reforms in New Uzbekistan for 2022-2023 Order.

On November 22, the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan, the Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbanov, hosted a military delegation headed by the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General Murat Bektanov.

The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has set a goal to increase the capacity of solar and wind power plants in Uzbekistan to 8,000 MW by 2026, the presidential press service said. Previously, this figure was planned to be reached by 2030.

On November 20, the launch ceremony of the small hydroelectric power station Zarchob-2 with a capacity of 38.2 MW was held in the Sariasiyo district of Surkhandarya province. The new station will be able to provide electricity to 40 households. In April, the Zarchob-1 HPP with a capacity of 37.4 MW was launched.

The member states of the Asia-Pacific Regional Group unanimously supported the candidacy of the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Ulugbek Lapasov, for the post of Deputy Chairman of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) for 2022, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov will attend the next ministerial meeting in the EU-Central Asia format in Dushanbe, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent and the U.S. Department of the Interior co-sponsored the first of three sessions for the Ambassador’s Water Experts Program (AWEP) in Uzbekistan.  The event, which focused on specific issues around agricultural water, included 94 participants from Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME), and its Bukhara and Karshi branches, the Scientific Research Institute of Irrigation and Water Problems, and the Ministry of Water Resources. 

Uzbekistan exported over 26 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables to Afghanistan, the State Statistics Committee said in a report. Reportedly, in total Uzbekistan exported 1.2 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $ 747.4 million in January-October 2021.

On November 15, 2021 Business Women’s Association of Uzbekistan "Tadbirkor Ayol" (Association) has launched a large educational campaign aimed at providing new opportunities for women willing to realize their entrepreneurial ideas. As part of this campaign, the Association, with the support of UNDP in Uzbekistan, organized an international conference “Successful approaches to economic rights and opportunities for women: the experience of Uzbekistan and the world community” held on 19 November 2021.

Uzbekistan's international trade reached US$ 32.6 billion in January-October 2021, recording an increase of US$ 2.5 billion, or 8.5%, the State Statistics Committee said in a report.

Meeting of the Executive Council of the Olympic Council of Asia took place on November 20 and 21, as well as negotiations with the Chairman of the General Directorate of Sports of the UAE. The Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov said on his Telegram channel yesterday.

Consortium EDF – Nebras Power – Sojizt Corporation was announced today as the winning bidder following an international tender for a 1,200–1,600-megawatt combined cycle gas turbine power plant to be built in Uzbekistan’s Syrdarya province.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, speaking at a joint press conference following the meeting of the Uzbekistan-EU Cooperation Council in Brussels, took questions of the journalist of the Brussels Morning newspaper Lailuma Sadid regarding Afghanistan.

Uzbekistan in 2022 will unify the main part of the technical regulations in force in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov said, speaking at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which took place on November 19 online.

The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on 19 November. According to the Kremlin press service, the two leaders will discuss the ways to further advance bilateral ties, focusing on trade, investment and humanitarian cooperation. They will also discuss international issues, including the situation in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and Russian Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov met in Moscow on November 18, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
