President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on December 15 signed a decree on appointing Shukurullo Boboyev to the position of khokim (governor) of Tashkent region.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved the new government formed by the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov. On December 15 the list of Deputy Prime Ministers has been posted on the government portal.

On December 14, Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the head of the Observation Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Ambassador Peter Johann Thejler.

On December 16 the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom, Alan Duncan will arrive in Uzbekistan for bilateral talks.

At the Dec. 14 joint session of Oliy Majlis the senators considered the issue of approval of candidates for the position of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.

Senate of Oliy Majlis at its December 13 plenary session considered the issue of improvement of the activity of the upper house in the field of international relations, foreign economic links, foreign investment and tourism. Recall, on the necessity of this at a meeting on December 7 dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the Constitution, the President-elect said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Uzbekistan’s Senate at the eighth plenary session on December 13 passed the Anti-Corruption Bill which initiated by the President, the Senate’s press service said.

On December 13 the President-elect of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the initiative of the Ukrainian side, held a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, UzA said.

On December 14 the joint session of the Oliy Majlis, dedicated to the inauguration ceremony of the President of Uzbekistan, opened in Tashkent.

UzLiDeP’s Political Council at its Dec 12 meeting decided to propose to the President for consideration Abdulla Aripov's candidacy for the post of Prime Minister, the party’s press service announced.

In 2017, the Uzbek Health Ministry will, within Health-3 project, implement at some district hospitals the system of funding based on the actual number of provided services, Uzbekistan Today said.

The eighth plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis will convene on December 13, the press service of the Senate said.

The governments of Uzbekistan and France signed an agreement on the establishment and activities of the French Development Agency (FDA) and its private sector subsidiary PROPARCO in Uzbekistan.

On December 8-9 Tashkent hosted a meeting of the working groups of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan convened to develop proposals to deepen cooperation in all areas of water issues, a statement of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.

Following the final vote count, Uzbekistan's Central Election Commission at the December 9 meeting declared that Shavkat Mirziyoev has been elected as the President of the Republic of  Uzbekistan.

On December 7, at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry was held a meeting with the Georgian Foreign Ministry delegation, headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister, David Jalagania.

Uzbekistan khokims (mayor or governor) may in the future be elected. Such a proposal was made by the President-elect Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The President-elect of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the December 7 solemn meeting dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the Constitution, criticized public servants for failing to communicate with the people.
