Akmalkhuja Mavlonov will become the chairman of the Customs Committee. His candidacy was approved at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber on November 18, the lower house said.
The previous head of the State Customs Committee, Murotjon Azimov, was appointed and. O. khokim of Kashkadarya province.
Akmalkhuja Mavlonov, 46, graduated from the Tashkent State Law Institute (2002). In the same year, he started working in the prosecutor's office of the Davlatabad district, held various positions in the prosecutor's office of the Namangan province.
Since 2006, he worked as a prosecutor, senior prosecutor of the General Prosecutor's Office, prosecutor of Margilan district, first deputy prosecutor of Syrdarya province and prosecutor of Khorezm province.
From February to August 2018, he served as head of the Department for Combating Tax, Currency Crimes and Money Laundering under the Prosecutor General's Office, afterwards – as the Deputy Prosecutor General.
From July 2019 to October 2020, he worked as the prosecutor of the Namangan province.
