On May 31, at about 8:30 am, unidentified persons broke the lock, entered the apartment of a 36-year-old Chinese citizen in Yakkasaray district of Tashkent and stole a safe containing 265,000 US dollars. This was announced on June 9 by the press service of the Investigation Department under the Interior Ministry.
Operational-search activities identified the suspects - they turned out to be residents of Surkhandarya province, 24-year-old Zh. M. and R. L., 19-year-old N. Zh. and B. M., 20-year-old O. O and 23-year-old T.A.
US$ 246 thousand, 9.7 million soums, 100 euros and an iPhone 13 purchased with stolen money were seized from them as evidence.
The detainees are now facing the Theft committed on an especially large scale charge of the Criminal Code and a detention was chosen as the measure of restraint.
