Uzbekistan and China have not pulled back their plans to introduce a 30-day visa-free, the spokesman to the Foreign Ministry Akhror Burkhonov said that at the stage of completing internal procedures. “Then a visa-free will take effect for a period of 30 days,” he added.
In December 2024, the Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi signed an agreement that will allow citizens of the two countries to travel to both countries without visas for 30 days.
Agreements on simplifying the visa regime were reached by the leaders of Uzbekistan and China in the spring of 2023 during the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to China.
Since March 2021, Chinese nationals can enter Uzbekistan without a visa for a period of 10 days, while the nationals of Uzbekistan must obtain a visa to travel to China.
