The Embassy of India in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, hosted an  event on March 17, 2025 focusing on Tourism, Trade, Investment opportunities in Uttarakhand, India. The event saw turnout of over 100 participants, including representatives from the media, tourism, and Indian business diaspora.

The event commenced with a video message from Honorable Chief Minister(CM) of Uttarakhand, Shri  Pushkar Singh Dhami. In his speech Chief Minister extended an invitation to Uzbek businesses and tourists to explore Uttarakhand's vast potential, as well as collaborate in tourism, heal & wellness, pharmaceutical, handicrafts and education sectors.  He also highlighted ongoing collaboration between IIT Roorkee and Samarkand State University (SSU). Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan, Ms. Smita Pant, spoke on diverse tourism & investment opportunities in Uttrakhand and highlighted the potential of cooperation in education, R&D, heath, pharmaceuticals and agriculture between  India and Uzbekistan.  Videos highlighting the vast investment opportunities and tourism potential of Uttarakhand were showcased, and a PowerPoint presentation on Uttarakhand's investment policies and tourism opportunities was made by Colonel Vikram Raina, Defence Attache’.  

The event also featured cultural performances by students of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Center for Indian Culture, showcasing Uttarakhand's unique folk traditions. Senior government officials, business leaders, and dignitaries from Uzbekistan attended the event, demonstrating their interest in exploring opportunities for collaboration and investment in Uttarakhand. The event marked a significant step towards strengthening economic and cultural ties between India and Uzbekistan.
