Penalty points to drivers shall only be given violation sheets drawn up by traffic policemen, said today at a press conference the Deputy chief of National traffic police department, Erali Bozorov.
“Following the proposals received from the public and the current social situation, the penalty point system will be applied only on the basis of violation sheets officially drawn up by a traffic police inspector. The violations will be calculated in electronic database by the National traffic police department, ruling out the human factor,” said Erali Bozorov. Whilst, violations recorded by cameras and radars are planned to be taken into account in the 12-point system “in the future”.
Earlier, a law introducing a penalty point system for traffic violations was signed into law on February 20.
