By the end of 2019 the proportion of electrified railway network in Uzbekistan will increase from the current 34% to 51%, a statement of the UzLiDeP’s website said.

The Swiss Casale SA launched a 500 thousand ton per year nitric acid production unit at Navoiazot (in Navoi region), with introduction of up-to-date energy-efficient technologies.

For the first time the Uzbek home appliances manufacturer Artel launched exports to Ukraine following the Uzbek-Ukrainian business meeting in Kiev, an Uzbek embassy statement said.

UzbekEnergo has started construction of the 220 kV high-voltage transmission line (HVTL) Takhiatash TPP - Khorezm substation-Sarymai (Khorezm region) in north-west of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan Railways in nine months of this year transported 15.8 million people, which is 2.9% higher than in the same period last year.

Year to date, 100 large industrial projects worth $ 3.7 billion were completed under  the Investment Program, including Expansion of a cement plant in Jizzakh region, Organization of mass  production of T-250 model passenger car at GM Uzbekistan, Construction of two combined cycle gas turbines with  450 MW capacity each at Talimarjan TPP, Construction of 150 MW high-ash coal-fired power plant at Angren TPP", Organization of spinning facility at FE Indorama Kokand textile (IV-stage), Production of sterile syringes at JV Guliston Med Texnika in Syrdarya region and others. 

In 9 months of this year, Uzbekistan’s GDP grew 7.8%, industrial output - 7.2%, the volume of construction works - 5%, retail trade turnover - 14.2%, services - 2.4%.

Average monthly salary in Uzbekistan compared to the beginning of the year increased by 12.6%. These figures were announced yesterday at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of the republic for the first 9 months of this year. 

International Aerial Logistics Hub in Navoi airport will soon increase the amount of cargo coming in and out by at least double.

The Interim President, the Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his trip to Surkhandarya region on October 11, said: “We need to strengthen the comprehensive cooperation with Afghanistan."

On January 25, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Uzbekistan Airways held an initiation meeting dedicated to the development of a feasibility study for the investment project - "Construction of a new international terminal at the Tashkent airport (Tashkent-4)".
