Tajikistan resumed power supply to Uzbekistan as of Sunday, Khovar reported. The transmission line from the Rehar substation in Tajikistan energized the Gulcha substation (Uzbekistan).
In 2009, Uzbekistan withdrew from the common power system of Central Asia, which, in particular, led to a disrution of the power exchange system in the border areas of the neighboring countries.
A deal on mutual power supplies was signed on March 9-10 during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan,.
Earlier, UzbekEnergo reported it achieved a deal with the Tajikistan Ministry of Energy and Water Resources on the supply of electricity in the amount of up to 1.5 billion kWh during the vegetation period of 2018.
The supply of electricity from Tajikistan to Uzbekistan for the 2018/2019 winter period will be also reviewed, the company noted.
