UzbekEnergo announced that it has completed the Construction of External Power Supply for Kandym Gas Processing Plant Project.

France-based EDF has secured a contract from UzbekEnergo to provide consultancy services for two new 450 MW each  combined cycle thermal power units in the Syrdarya province, UzbekEnergo announced in a statement.

President of Uzbekistan signed the Approval of An International Treaty Resolution on Wednesday. The resolution has approved the agreement, signed on April 3, 2015 in Tashkent between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the United States of America to improve international tax compliance and to implement the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, which introduce a reporting regime for financial institutions with respect to certain accounts.

Uzbekistan's GDP growth has remained strong since the mid-2000s.
