President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today began a trip to the Syrdarya province, the presidential press service said. The trip began with the visit to Sirdaryo Universal Oyna enterprise in Syrdarya district and familirizing with the process of manufacturing of pharmaceutical and food glass containers.

The company, hosted by Sirdaryo free economic zone, produces glass containers for pharmaceutical and food industries, with the main equipment from Germany, the Czech Republic and France.

The company, having reached full capacity this year, will produce 102 million pieces of glass containers a year and export US$ 2 million worth of products, with 450 people provided with jobs.

A project is being implemented next to Sirdaryo Glass for production of colored glass containers for both the pharmaceutical and food industries. The annual capacity of the project is 136.1 million items.

The company, which will be commissioned next year, plans to create 500 jobs and export products worth US$ 3.7 million per year.

Sirdaryo Shisha LLC is establishing the processing of quartz sand for glass production. Asaka Bank provided a US$ 5 million loan for starting the business with an annual capacity of 438 thousand tons of sand.

It is planned to create a 10 hectare European standard greenhouse, which will use the heat generated at the enterprises of Sirdaryo Universal Oyna and Sirdaryo Glass.

Sirdaryo Fish Technology Ltd. plans to grow and process fish in a closed reservoir system. The project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2020, provides for growing over 2.7 thousand tons fish per year.

Here were also held a presentation of projects for production of pharmaceutical, textile, electrical products and building materials through investments, modernization of the Farkhad hydroelectric station, the construction of a small hydroelectric station near the Sardoba reservoir, a multidisciplinary logistics center set up by Sirdaryo Golden Fruits LLC.
