Uzkimyosanoat (Uz Chemical Industry) and Samsung Engineering will build a US$ 600 million urea and ammonia production plant in Uzbekistan, the presidential press service said.
On February 19, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of the plant Sirdaryo province, Yangiyer city during his trip to the province. The enterprise will produce 400,000 tons of ammonia and 600,000 tons of urea per year.
“Nowhere else you can find such a favorable infrastructure as in Syrdarya. These facilities will help construction and stable operation of the plant, increase investment attractiveness. This is a very profitable, promising project,” the head of state said.
Next year, Uzkimyosanoat together with the Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plans to complete construction of another plant for production of 660,000 tons of ammonia and 577,500 tons of urea per year. The US$ 985.7 million project is being implemented at Navoiazot – the largest chemical enterprise in Uzbekistan.
