Public Procurement Bill has been drafted in Uzbekistan. The draft was published on the legal acts discussion portal.

A delegation of the State of Palestine, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mazen Shamiyah, arrived today in Tashkent to discuss bilateral ties, as well as international issues.

Part of the gas supply infrastructure in Tashkent and the provinces will be handed over for trust management to private entities for operation of gas distribution network and gas retailing. This is provided for by the April 20 Presidential Decree.

On April 25, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will arrive in Uzbekistan on an official visit.As the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said, during the visit Mevlut Cavusoglu will meet with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

On April 22, 2017 the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in order to inspect ongoing construction works and get acquainted with socio-economic development, the activities of schools and makhallas (neighbourhoods) visited Tashkent’s Olmazor district.

The Committee for Nature Protection has been converted into a Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection. The decree was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Akhborot on the "Uzbekistan" TV channel said.

The President of Uzbekistan by his April 20 decree appointed Ravshan Ayyubovich Gulyamov as chairman of the newly created Privatized Enterprises Assistance and Competition Development Committee, the committee's website said in a statement.

On April 21, the Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is taking part in the meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Astana, held talks with the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi.

Uzbekistan Railways announced train fares cut and the launch of regular morning, afternoon and evening high-speed train services in Tashkent-Andijan-Tashkent, Urgench-Andijan-Urgench, Bukhara-Andijan-Bukhara routes.

On April 20, the Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov met the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman headed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in bilateral negotiations, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

On April 19, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a government meeting devoted to enhancing the personal liability of executives of all levels for optimizing the imports through further localization of production and expanding industrial cooperation, as well as fulfilling the forecast exports figures and fully utilizing reserves to increase exports, UzA reported.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on April 12 issued a resolution to appoint Bahrom Kurbonovich Sharipov as the Chairman of the Board of UzbekIpakSanoat (Uzbek Silk Industry) Association, according to the government portal.

The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev decreed Wednesday the creation of a Ministry of Housing and Utility Services. The new Ministry will focus on “further improving the management of housing and utility services (HUS) system", according to the decree.

By the April 18 Presidential decree, Erkin Yuldashev has been appointed as the deputy prosecutor general of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

According to the Tashkent mayor’s office, the mayors of four districts - Mirabad, Yashnabad, Uchtepa and Sergeli - have been replaced.

Bakhtiyor Abdusamatov, who headed the Committee for Nature Protection since December 2013, has been appointed as khokim (mayor) of the Yunusabad district, the mayor’s office announced.

On April 18, 2017, the Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov received the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Pamela Leora Spratlen.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on April 10 decreed to create an Uzbekistan’s Supreme Judicial Council, a new institution introduced by recent amendments to the Constitution.

Davron Khidoyatov, former chairman of the Committee on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition has been appointed as khokim (mayor) of Tashkent’s Chilanzar district, the Tashkent city mayor’s office announced.

On April 19, 2017 a delegation of the Sultanate of Oman, headed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi will arrive in Uzbekistan.
