The government issued the Additional measures to ensure public safety at restaurants and entertainment venues at nighttime resolution, the Ministry of Justice said.

According to the document, from October 15, dining and entertainment venues shall be able to work around the clock, provided the following requirements are observed:

  • CCTV cameras shall be installed inside the said venues, including office space, entrances and exits, with footages stored at least thirty days;
  • sufficient (at least 10 meters) lighting of the adjacent territory, the parking lot and other territory;
  • compliance with the noise norms or not using music and sound-amplifying devices at night;
  • presence of fire extinguishing equipment and first-aid kits;
  • availability of visible evacuation scheme, as well as telephone numbers of emergency and rescue services.

Tashkent had seen significant crackdowns on its nightlife, with unofficial curfews imposed on vast majority of venues. With average venue close down by 11:30 p.m., Tashkent has virtually no nightlife with streets feeling dead all nights, which has turned down younger tourists.
