The Uzbek Prosecutor General's Office reported about the degree of injuries of the drivers and passengers of the accident involving a government car in Bekabad district of Tashkent province.

On August 21, Umid Shadiev, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO, left Tashkent for Paris, replacing Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva, the younger dughter of the late president Islam Karimov, who served Uzbekistan's Ambassador to UNESCOsince 2008. She stepped down from this post on 2 February, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
