Buses lanes are planned on a total of Tashkent’s 73 central streets, this was discussed at a government meeting chaired by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Tuesday, the presidential press service said.
The statement highlighted the urgency of "ensuring the unhindered movement of public transport."
As per the program aiming to increase the capacity of intersections, the creation of lanes for buses on 73 streets should increase the average speed of buses by 1.5 times.
Governors of provinces were instructed to adopt similar programs for improving the transport infrastructure. Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the need to ensure the priority for public transport on the streets and intersections, the creation of conditions for passengers.
