Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Qudratov hosted the head of the delegation of the EU in Uzbekistan Charlotte Adrian. The parties discussed the ways to advance the bilateral ties in trade, economy and investment spheres, cooperation within the framework of Uzbekistan's WTO membership and other issues of interest to the parties.
Laziz Qudratov expressed gratitude to Charlotte Adrian for the technical and advisory assistance provided in the process of the country’s joining the World Trade Organization, in particular, through the implementation of the project "Assisting Uzbekistan's entry into the WTO" funded by the EU.
The parties explored the opportunities for expanding the main areas of bilateral financial and technical cooperation and the new multi-year indicative program of the EU for Uzbekistan for 2021-2024, the implementation of which has been allocated 76 million euros. They emphasized that the transition to a "green" economy, effective governance, support for agriculture and other areas of the program are in accordance with the development strategy of New Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to further expand cooperation in priority directions and to bring multifaceted bilateral relations to a new stage.
