On May 17, Tashkent hosted the seventh round of political consultations between the Affairs Ministries of Uzbekistan and Israel. According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the two delegations were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and Deputy Director General, Head of the Department of Eurasia and the Western Balkans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel Gary Koren.

On May 18, the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov hosted the visiting president of Bashkortostan (a subject of the Russian federation) Radiy Khabirov.

On May 17, Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a conference call government meeting on increasing the volume of trading on the commodity exchange and expanding the participation of local enterprises.

As a continuation of our long-standing collaboration with the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade on the WTO accession process of Uzbekistan, UNDP in Uzbekistan delivered a training on increasing the negotiation capacity of the Negotiation Group on the accession of Uzbekistan to the WTO. The workshop was attended by over 30 representatives of government officials from various ministries and agencies. As a result of this activity, the participants were able to develop their skills and understanding on holding bilateral and multilateral negotiations as a part of the WTO accession process.

Uzbekistan figure skating championship will kick off today, May 18, the Tashkent's Humo Arena ice palace. According to the National Olympic Committee, athletes from various provinces will attend the championship.

On May 18-22, a delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia led by the Deputy Foreign Minister Kamarudin Jaffar will visit Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The Almaty to Tashkent high-speed train service on Tulpar-Talgo was resumed as of May 16, 2022. According to the Uzbekistan Ministry of Transport, the train, which for the first time after a two and a half year hiatus left for to Uzbekistan, arrived at the Central Railway Station of Tashkent at 11:05 yesterday.
