Russia journalist Alexander Nechaev, 36, was found dead in Tashkent, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office confirmed on Saturday the information of the Russian media.

The Mirzo-Ulugbek district prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-investigation probe with a forensic medical examination assigned to determine the cause of death.

Komsomolskaya Pravda, where Alexander Nechaev used to work, reported that he had arrived to Tashkent "to live for a couple of months."

His last message was a phrase about Tashkent: “There is no reason not to love this city,” the journalist Denis Korsakov, who spoke with him, wrote.

“On Monday, he stopped responding to messages in the messenger and to calls. In the evening, he didn't turn in an issue of the Film Distributor's Bulletin magazine, the largest specialized publication on the film business (he was the editor-in-chief). This has never happened: Sasha treated his work with the utmost responsibility. On Tuesday, they found acquaintances who live in Tashkent and could check if everything is in order. They arrived at the rented apartment with the owner and the police, opened the door and found Sasha dead. It is not yet clear what happened to him. Maybe it's due to the heart," he said.
