The government issued an order announcing the national hashar (work-for-the-nation day) for March 11 across Uzbekistan.

As part of the hashar, cleaning of the territories of mahallas, cities and villages, multi-storey buildings, courtyards, gardens, alleys, places of worship, cemeteries, squares, as well as playgrounds will be organized.

National hashars are traditionally held in Uzbekistan twice a year: before the Navruz holiday on March 21 and the Independence Day on September 1.

The other day the President signed a decree "On preparation and holding of the national Navruz holiday in 2023."

As per the decree, in preparation for the holiday, the president instructed to pay attention to the organization of national hashars in all cities and villages, and mahallas, large-scale landscaping and gardening works.

Earlier it was reported that on Navruz, Uzbeks will have 5 days off in a row.
