Part of the Abdullahon madrasah collapsed in Bukhara on the night of July 30, the press service of the Bukhara province governor’s office reported.

A working group was formed, which includes representatives of the provincial administration of the Agency for Cultural Heritage, the Bukhara province governor’s office, restorers and experts in the field. They conducted research at the site of the collapse.

The impact of long-term "man-made processes" - heat and cold, precipitation and rising groundwater were provisionally named as the cause of the incident.

Work has begun on the restoration of the collapsed part of the madrasah with the involvement of representatives of the Agency for Cultural Heritage.

In addition, scientists, restorers and experts conducted a study of about 40 cultural heritage sites in Bukhara that are prone to erosion and destruction due to man-made processes. Recommendations were sent to the government to prevent such cases.

On the fact of the collapse of a part of the madrasah, the prosecutor's office launched a probe.
