On March 1, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held telephone conversations with his counterparts in the Middle East and discussed the situation in the region and conveyed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's words of support and solidarity to their countries.

The minister Saidov spoke with:

  • Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani;
  • Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah;
  • Foreign Minister of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi;

  • Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The conversations focused on the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the need to resolve all matters exclusively through peaceful, political, and diplomatic means in full compliance with international law to ensure regional stability.

Bakhtiyor Saidov also spoke with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. They reiterated their shared positions on the national sovereignty and territorial integrity, strict adherence to international law, and expressed a shared commitment to resolving all tensions through dialogue and diplomacy.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry expressed "serious concern" over the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Middle East caused by the US and Israeli attacks on Iran and Iran's retaliatory strikes against countries in the region.

"We call on all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from further steps that could lead to a dangerous escalation with unpredictable consequences, not only of a military-political but also of a humanitarian nature," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Uzbekistan consistently advocates "for strengthening regional stability and security and expects a speedy normalization of the situation," the statement added.
