Tashkent will host the 2025 Asian Youth Games. On January 5 at the International Press Club, the Minister of Sports Dilmurod Nabiyev spoke about the preparations for the Games.

Temur Ismailov a 25-year-old tennis player from Uzbekistan, has been banned for seven years (with two suspended) and fined $12,000 after a Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) investigation found he had breached the Tennis Anti-Corruption Programme (TACP) rules on several occasions relating to match fixing.

Uzbekistan has revoked its bid to host the Asian Cup in 2027, Alisher Nikimbaev said. "The Uzbekistan Football Association has officially notified the Asian Football Confederation of revoking of its bid to host the 2027 Asian Cup," he said.

Uzbekistan will host the IV Summer Youth Asian Games 2025, with the Cabinet of Ministers issuing a resolution on measures to prepare for the competition.
