Uzbekistan football team landed in Qatar for a training camp. The head coach Srecko Katanec has mainly called up domestic-based players for the camp. The squad includes some new names who are being called up for the first time, the likes of the Super League top scorer Anvar Khojimirzaev, the young talents Jahongir Abdusalomov and Saidazamat Mirsaidov.
However, the head coach Srečko Katanec will not be attending the camp due to health issues, following doctors' advice, with media reports circulating that he is battling some type of cancer. The training sessions will be led by assistant coaches Aleš Čeh and Vlado Radmanović.
As part of the camp, Uzbekistan will play a friendly match against Jordan on January 27.
